Bills vs. Patriots live score, updates, highlights from NFL ‘Monday Night Football’ game

The Bills are hosting the Patriots on “Monday Night Football” for a battle of supremacy in the AFC East.

Josh Allen will lead the Bills (7-4) against Mac Jones and the Patriots (8-4), who will look to extend a six-game victory streak with a win in Buffalo. Allen will face the challenging task of driving the ball against New England’s defense, which only allowed 85 passing yards during their 36-13 victory against the Titans last week.

Allen helped the Bills gain momentum against the Saints’ defense during their 31-6 victory on Thanksgiving. He completed 23 of 28 passes for 260 yards with four touchdowns. Although Allen threw two interceptions, the Bills’ offense recorded 361 total yards and averaged 5.8 yards per play. Allen connected wide receiver Stefon Diggs for 74 yards with a touchdown and tight end Dawson Knox for 34 yards with two scores.

The Patriots’ offense will be challenged by the league’s top-ranked defense, which allows about 275.2 total yards per game. After taking down Trevor Siemian last week, defensive end Mario Addison leads the Bills with four sacks. Rookie defensive end Gregory Rousseau follows close behind with three, but hasn’t recorded a sack since he tackled Patrick Mahomes during the Bills’ 38-20 victory against the Chiefs on Oct. 10.

Despite the weather forecast showing strong winds in Buffalo, Patriots coach Bill Belichek will strategically structure the Patriots’ offensive approach. Rookie quarterback Jones threw for a season-high 310 yards with two touchdowns against the Titans and averaged a 71.9 completion percentage. While he connected with wide receivers Jakobi Meyers and Kendrick Bourne last week, Jones will rely on running backs Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson against Buffalo. Harris leads the Patriots with 643 rushing yards and eight touchdowns while Stevenson has 351 rushing yards with three touchdowns.
