Twitter has started removing the blue checkmarks from its platform. For the uninitiated, the blue ticks were verification badges which were obtained by the Twitter users under the old system. Now, the company has started removing the legendary blue ticks of the users who have not subscribed to Twitter Blue.
According to a previous statement made by Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, the platform’s updated verification system is intended to verify that accounts belonging to prominent individuals and organizations are genuinely operated by them. Additionally, this system aims to decrease the number of bots present on the micro-blogging platform. As part of the Blue subscription, which costs $8 per month, the blue tick has become one of several features available.

Celebrities that lost blue ticks
In this drive to remove the blue ticks from Twitter accounts. Many Indian celebrities have also lost the legacy checkmark. From the tech world famous personalities like Bill Gates, Ratan Tata and Narayana Murthy have lost the blue tick marks.
Along with this, famous Bollywood stars such as Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Akshay Kumar, Kajol, Madhuri Dixit, Anushka Sharma and Anil Kapoor and more have lost the blue ticks.
Apart from this, sports personalities like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Saina Nehwal have also lost blue ticks from their Twitter accounts. International celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Jon Stewart and more are also part of this list.
