Bhumika Chawla calls out despicable coverage of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death: You cannot get the public to run the court – Times of India
Recalling their shooting days in Ranchi, Bhumika said that Sushant used to talk about his life and many other things. She would just sit and listen to him talk which made her realise that actors are also humans and they go through their own bit of emotions.
When she learnt about Sushant’s death, Bhumika just couldn’t not get over it for a very long time. She also spoke about the despicable coverage of Sushant’s death and said that she was disappointed by several theories be it about Bollywood or nepotism or drugs. She said that news channels made a mess out of it and primetime shows looked like today’s saas-bahu episode.
“It felt like every channel was just doing this. Why were they doing this? If it was because they did not want to tell what was actually happening in the country, or what is not happening, or if they had nothing else to discuss, or if they wanted to shift the focus,” Bhumika said in a chat show.
She mentioned that this went on for four months while the country was battling the pandemic. She said that there was no decency while adding that you cannot get the public to run the court. “First, you solve the case and then tell the public. The decency was not there,” she added.
Bhumika said that really affected by Sushant’s death because “he was too young and unfortunately, embroiled in too many controversies. Someone said it was loneliness, someone said it was depression. I don’t know what happened.”
