‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ box office collection day 5: Kartik Aaryan-Kiara Advani’s horror drama inches closer to Rs 75 crore – Times of India

‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ has managed to beat the Tuesday collection of Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, which had earned Rs 9.3 crore nett because of Mahashivratri holiday. Going by the present positive trend, at the end of its first week, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ is expected to collect a total of Rs 91 crore. Despite a good response, this horror entertainer may fall short of the coveted 100 crore mark in its first week.

‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ takes ahead the franchise which was started in 2007 with Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starrer ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. Speaking about inescapable comparisons with the first part, director Anees Bazmee had told BT, “When I began my journey with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 I knew I was taking it ahead from a fantastic team that was associated with it. It was a cult film. People still remember the characters like Manjulika. I had to take a calculative risk, take from some old elements and introduce something new in this one. However, in the end comparisons toh honi hi hai. There is no escaping from that so let people compare.”
