Earlier, Mohammad Kaif hit a brilliant 73 as Manipal Tigers recovered from a top-order collapse to post a total of 153 for seven. Kaif was dismissed on the final delivery by Fidel Edwards, who ended with figures of four for 29. Tigers were reduced to four for 15 in the first four overs. However, Kaif stitched important partnerships with Tatenda Taibu (16), Pradeep Sahu (30) and Shivakant Shukla (17) to steer the Tigers to a defendable total.
