Bhediya star Varun Dhawan to play an important cameo in Stree 2, director Amar Kaushik will create a horror-comedy crossover: Reports – Times of India

Last year, Amar Kaushik, who had directed Stree, went on to helm the Varun Dhawan-Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya and created a parallel universe of sorts. The crossover was further brought to light when Bhediya’s mid-credit scene shows that Abhishek Banerjee’s character Janardan is actually Jana from Stree. Not only that, Shraddha Kapoor also made a brief appearance in the song ‘Thumkeshwari’, which was played in the end credits of the movie, insinuating that a crossover is ready to take place soon.

Now reports are rife that Varun Dhawan will play an important cameo in Stree 2 and will be a key part of the whole narrative of the sequel. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “In Bhediya, the characters of Stree enter towards the very end and had nothing to do with the main conflict in the narrative. But in Stree’s sequel, Varun Dhawan will have a crucial role to play. It will be a special appearance but it’ll be something that will add to the fun and madness in Stree 2.”

While Shraddha is currently basking in the success of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar opposite Ranbir Kapoor, Varun will soon be seen in Bawaal with Janhvi Kapoor. On the other hand, Rajkummar Rao’s Bheed will hit theatres later this month.
