Best opportunities for remote jobs
As the world moves on from lockdowns and quarantines after the COVID-19 pandemic, the opportunities for remote jobs have declined.
However, people seeking remote jobs have only increased since then, to the point that more people apply for remote jobs than on-site jobs.
Entirely out-of-the-office employment listed on ZipRecruiter, a job website, peaked at almost 14% last year, Bloomberg reported, citing internal data from the company.
This year, however, the share of fully remote jobs has dropped to less than 11%.
While ZipRecruiter’s chief economist Julia Pollak claims that this drop in remote job offers results from reduced hiring in sectors like tech and finance, the demand rages on.
The job website claims that ads for fully remote positions get more than twice as many applications as on-site jobs.
ZipRecruiter’s data reveals jobs with “research” in the title, customer support, data entry and assistant roles. Moreover, writing and content creation positions are also usually home-based.
However, some ads posted as “remote” may require employees to drive long hours (i.e., insurance).
