Best Buy Insignia Air Fryer recalled due to risk of fire
A total of 635,000 items have been recalled in the United States, and an additional 137,000 items have been recalled in Canada. According to Best Buy, 4,444 consumers in the United States and Canada reported that an air fryer or air fryer oven ignited, burned, or melted. Includes 7 reports of property damage and 2 injuries including a child’s foot.
According to regulatory agencies, 4,444 hot air fryers with a cavity size of 3.4 to 10 litres were sold for $30 to $150. Each unit has the INSIGNIA brand name on the top or front. Consumers must immediately stop using the recalled Air Fryer and Air Fryer, return them to Best Buy and receive a refund in the form of Best Buy Store Credits or Best Buy.com Gift Cards.
Best Buy said it would contact all known buyers to arrange returns, provide prepaid shipping boxes and labels, and return procedures.
Consumers will receive a $50 credit, or a purchase proof amount. No proof of purchase is required to receive a $50 credit.
