Ohio cops are called to Bengals star Joe Mixon’s home after reports of a gunshot and a minor injury to a juvenile ONE MONTH after he was accused of pointing a firearm at a woman in Cincinnati
Ohio police were called to the home of Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon on Monday night in response to a reported shooting that resulted in a minor injury to a juvenile, who was hospitalized.
The story is still developing and Mixon’s involvement, if any, as well as the circumstances of the juvenile’s injury remain unclear. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputies did leave the residence without making an arrest, according to Cincinnati’s Fox 19.
The local network is reporting that officers have taped off an area around a home on Ayers Road in Anderson Township – a Cincinnati suburb along the banks of the Ohio River. The residence is adjacent to a home belonging to Mixon, according to an arrest warrant for the 26-year-old NFL star that was dropped earlier this year.
Fox 19 reports that there was an evidence marker in Mixon’s yard, and deputies were seen extending the crime-scene tape to his property around 11pm on Monday.
Less than an hour later, officers reportedly banged on Mixon’s door, identified themselves, and told the home owner to exit the home. Later, a car was permitted into the home’s driveway around 12:15am, according to Fox 19.

Mixon has had a turbulent 2023 thus far.
After the Bengals failed in their bid for a second straight Super Bowl berth by losing the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC title game, a warrant was issued for Mixon’s arrest over claims he pointed a gun at a woman in downtown Cincinnati.
According to reports, Mixon allegedly told the woman that she should be ‘popped in the face,’ adding: ‘I should shoot you now. The police can’t get me.’
The alleged incident is said to have taken place a day before Cincinnati played the Buffalo Bills in an AFC Divisional playoff game.
However, the menacing charge against Mixon has since been dismissed at the request of the Hamilton County Persecutor’s Office.
Authorities have reserved the right to refile the case at a later date, and a prosecutor told county judge Curt Kissinger that the department needs ‘additional investigation before we would move forward with this case.’
