Cincinnati Bengals running back has reportedly agreed to a pay cut in order to stay with the team for the upcoming season.
Mixon’s agent, Peter Schaeffer, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the team agreed to a restructured deal to keep him for the upcoming season.
The running back had a $9.4million non-guaranteed base salary for this upcoming season and had a cap hit of roughly $12.8m.
It was reported back in April that Mixon might be cut from the team if he did not agree to a pay cut.
Mixon has been in Cincinnati for all of his six years in the NFL, earning one Pro-Bowl selection in 2021.

Mixon has played his entire career in Cincinnati – racking up 5,378 yards over six seasons
That season, Mixon rushed for a career high 1,205 yards and 13 touchdowns as Cincinnati won the AFC title and reached Super Bowl LVI.
There, they fell to the Los Angeles Rams. Mixon logged 72 yards on 15 carries that game.
Mixon was selected with the 48th overall pick in the second round of the 2017 draft out of Oklahoma.
Across six seasons in the NFL, Mixon has accumulated 5,378 rushing yards on 1,314 carries over the course of 80 games. He’s managed 40 touchdowns on the ground as well.
