Bear Alexander sets commitment date, names contenders for transfer
Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Bear Alexander entered the transfer portal, and now announced the contending teams and when he’ll make a decision.
The Georgia Bulldogs knew they were about to lose some of their top players to the 2023 NFL Draft, but luckily for them, they are a recruiting powerhouse in the SEC.
However, ahead of the team’s spring game, the program found out that former four-star defensive lineman Bear Alexander was entering the transfer portal. With this news, Alexander became a sought after talent in the portal, especially to those in need of some help along the defensive line.
But when is an announcement from Alexander arriving? Not too long.
Alexander took to Twitter to announce that he will be making his decision on Sunday night, Apr. 23, on Footballville. Not just that, but he listed six contenders — Miami, USC, Colorado, Oregon, Texas and Penn State.

This weekend, Alexander is in the Los Angeles area meeting visiting with USC. Ironically, the decision will be made on Sunday night. Could this be a hint that Alexander will be a member of the Trojans?
According to Alexander’s 247 recruiting profile, he did receive offers from Miami, Colorado, Oregon, Texas and USC during the 2022 cycle before ultimately choosing to commit to Georgia.
Alexander was a rotational player off the bench for the Bulldogs during his lone season with the team. In eight games, he recorded nine combined tackles (five solo, four assisted), two sacks and two passes defended. In the College Football Playoff national championship game, Alexander recorded two solo tackles and one sack in the 65-7 win over the TCU Horned Frogs.
The fanbases of the Trojans, Hurricanes, Longhorns, Nittany Lions, Ducks and Buffaloes will be waiting for Alexander’s announcement on Sunday night to see where he will be playing in 2023.
