Bayern Munich allocate different club chiefs to focus on Harry Kane and Kyle Walker pursuits in a bid to secure both prime targets this summer

  • Bayern Munich have split club chiefs across Harry Kane and Kyle Walker deals
  • Guardiola is desperate to keep Walker and the squad want to retain their bond
  • Tottenham’s owner has told Daniel Levy to sell Kane if he refuses a new deal

Bayern Munich are going all out to secure the signings of Harry Kane and Kyle Walker before the start of the season.

The Bundesliga champions face Manchester City in Tokyo on Wednesday and Bayern have sent president Herbert Hainer and chief financial officer Michael Diederich to hold crunch talks with City.

That news comes despite manager Pep Guardiola revealing his club are doing all they can to keep Walker.

Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe, meanwhile, have stayed in Germany intent on finalising a deal for Kane.

Spurs owner Joe Lewis has told chairman Daniel Levy to sell the England captain — who is valued at £100million — if he refuses to sign a new contract.

Kane has one year left on his current deal, meaning he could leave the club for free next summer.

Bayern are favourites to land the 29-year-old and are also Walker’s most viable option if he turns down a contract offer from City.

Guardiola insisted he intends to select Walker for the friendly against the team trying to sign him but admitted he is in the dark over the defender’s future.

‘He’s still our player,’ Guardiola said.

‘We need to play against Bayern with our best players and we hope he’ll stay with us for the whole season.

‘Why shouldn’t he play? Kyle is incredibly important for us. He has qualities that are difficult to find out wide.

‘Both clubs are in touch. We will fight for him, like I’m sure Bayern will.’

Guardiola is trying to recruit backroom staff and hopes to bring back former assistant Juanma Lillo, who has been in Qatar with Al Sadd.
