According to the latest reports, the singer’s last rites rituals will begin at 9 am. His mortal remains will be taken from his home to the Vile Parle cremation ground for friends and family to bid their final goodbye. Following the last rite rituals, the singer’s mortal remains will be cremated at around 10 am.
The veteran singer passed away at around midnight due to multiple health complications and OSA (obstructive sleep apnea).
“He had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home, after which he was brought to the hospital,” Dr Joshi told reporters.
Since news broke of his passing, several top politicians like President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, top leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi government, BJP’s Leaders of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis and Pravin Darekar, and others offered their condolences to the Lahiri family.
Several stars from Akshay Kumar to Ajay Devgn, Anupam Kher to Rakesh Roshan and others took to social media to mourn the actor’s demise and share their fondest memories.
