Legendary singer Bappi Lahiri recently passed away. The ‘Disco King’ was popularly known for his hit songs and huge gold collection. Every time he used to step out for an event or song recording, he used to wear his gold. Recently, his son Bappa Lahiri, who flew down from the US for Bappi Lahiri’s funeral, spoke about his gold collection.

In an interview, he said that Bappi Da was spiritually attached to his gold. Bappa said that gold was not just a fashion statement for his father, it was lucky for him.

In an interview with India Today, Bappa said that his father never travelled without his gold. He revealed that even if he has a 5 am flight to catch, Bappi Da would wear all his gold. Bappa further added that the family will preserve his gold and put them in a museum for people to see his things. He shared that Bappi Da had a collection of shoes, sunglasses, hats, watches, and jewellery which he loved and the family would love to showcase it.

Bappi Lahiri passed away at the age of 69 due to Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Best known for his iconic compositions in ‘Wardat’, ‘Disco Dancer’, ‘Namak Halaal’, ‘Dance Dance’, ‘Commando’, ‘Saheb’, ‘Gang Leader’, ‘Sailaab’ and ‘Sharaabi’, Bappi Lahiri had popularised disco music in the country from the 1980s to 1990s.
