Bangladesh: Amara Raja Infra bags 100MW solar project in Bangladesh – Times of India

HYDERABAD: Amara Raja Infra Private Limited (ARIPL), which is a part of the $1.75 billion Amara Raja Group, has forayed into the international solar power market by bagging a $130 million project in Bangladesh along with Hyderabad-based solar modules manufacturer Premier Solar Powertech.
To be spread over 326 acres at Madarganj in Jamalpur district of Bangladesh, the project is slated for completion in the next 18 months.
The 100MW project, which is being funded by EXIM Bank of India, was secured from Rural Power Company Ltd in Bangladesh and its scope includes engineering, design, supply, installation and commissioning. With the Bangladesh project in its kitty, ARIPL now has a solar portfolio of 1 GW in the pipeline.
Post the commissioning of the project, ARIPL will also be providing comprehensive operation and maintenance services for a period of two years, along with warranty spares and consumables, it said.
ARIPL director Vikramaditya Gourineni termed the development as an extraordinary achievement given the stiff competition from industry biggies.
“In a short period of time, we have taken on some of the biggest renewable energy projects in India, and with this project we can establish ourselves as a serious player in the international market as well,” he said.
ARIPL said the win cements its reputation as a serious player in the renewable energy sector in India and abroad. Last year, it bagged India’s first green hydrogen fuelling station project being commissioned in Leh by NTPC and the first 400 KV GIS project from GSECL.
