Bad Bunny defeats Damian Priest in epic Street Fight at WWE Backlash
Bad Bunny set the bar once again for celebrities wrestling, as he defeated Damian Priest in an epic “San Juan Street Fight” at WWE Backlash.
When it comes to celebrities that have given professional wrestling a try, rapper Bad Bunny has set the bar. He shocked the world with a tremendous performance back at WrestleMania 37 in 2021, teaming up with Damian Priest in a winning effort against The Miz and John Morrison. Bad Bunny even was part of the final four in the 2022 men’s Royal Rumble match. He is a gigantic wrestling fan, and it shows with how seriously he takes it.
On Saturday, May 6, Bad Bunny was originally supposed to host WWE’s premium live event, Backlash, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Instead, he decided he wanted to take on Priest, his former tag team partner who choke slammed him through an announce table on the Raw after WrestleMania 39. But, he didn’t want a regular match. He wanted a “San Juan Street Fight.”
In front of an electric crowd at Coliseo de Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny defeated Priest to win his very first one-on-one match in WWE.

Before the match even began, Bad Bunny got an incredible reaction from those in attendance.
Bad Bunny got off to a strong start, hitting Priest with a Falcon Arrow from the get go to the surprise of Priest. But eventually, Priest got the advantage in the match, throwing him around ringside and hitting him with a kendo stick.
Perhaps one of the most insane portions of the match was when Priest hit Bad Bunny with a Broken Arrow off production box through some tables.
Bad Bunny did recover, targeting Priest’s left leg, hitting it with a kendo stick and a steel chair. Just when Bad Bunny looked like he was going to win, he got attacked by Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio of the Judgment Day. But, they were sent packing by Rey Mystero, the LWO, and the returning Carlito and Savio Vega.
When all interfering talent eventually went backstage, Bad Bunny nearly had Priest beat with a Figure Four Leg Lock and a sunset flip. But, it was a “Bunny Destroyer,” aka a Canadian Destroyer, on Priest that got Bad Bunny the victory.
Once again, it was another incredible match for Bad Bunny that had it all. From insane moves to shocking surprises. Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest was an absolute home run.
