Baby dies after mum falls asleep in tub
A teenage mum will face second-degree murder and cruelty charges after she fell asleep in a bathtub with her 10-month-old son.
Anslie Nicole Brantley, 19, from the US, had allegedly taken drugs when she passed out in the tub with her little boy, Draiden Shane Nichol, resting on her chest on June 9.
She was at her mum’s house in Georgia when she later woke up to find her son unresponsive.
Emergency Services were then called to the Coweta County home where they found the baby boy cold and not breathing.
After performing CPR, first responders immediately rushed the baby to a nearby hospital but he was later pronounced dead.

Officials have not yet revealed what type of drugs Brantley had taken.
“The baby was in the bathtub with her and was unresponsive when she woke up,” the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
During the investigation, Brantley’s mother Kelli Gordon who called emergency services, told officials her daughter had taken the infant to take a bath.
After realising she had been gone a while, she then went to check in on her daughter and Draiden.

The 36-year-old grandmother heard muffled noises from inside the bathroom so she went back to watching television, according to the LA Times.
However, after she heard her daughter scream she went back to the bathroom where she found Draiden cold and blue.
During the investigation, police also found methamphetamine in the grandmother’s home.
She was arrested on narcotics possession charges and is in custody on charges unrelated to Draiden’s death.

Gordon’s five minor children were removed from her custody.
Following the grandmother’s arrest, police then arrested Brantley on July 29.
The 19-year-old will face second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children charges.
Officials are also waiting on toxicology results for both Brantley and her son, according to local reports.
Brantley awaits further trial as she is being held without bond at Coweta County Jail.
