Babil: My goal is to show the audience that I am here to perform – Times of India

Irrfan Khan’s son Babil made his much-awaited debut as an actor last year with Qala. The film that had a digital release garnered positive response. Being the son of an acclaimed actor, all eyes were on Babil and he did win applauds for his performance.
Ask him how it feels to finally have arrived as an actor and he shares, “That feeling has not sunk in yet. I haven’t done anything yet. I have a long-long way to go as a performer and all I can say is that the kindness and love that I have received from the audience has really pushed me even more. I am just so motivated that I want to perform as fine as I can.”

After making his debut with the web film that also starred Triptii Dimri, Babil wants to pick up more such projects that will help him to showcase his artistic side. He shares, “My entire goal is to show the audience that I am here to perform, and I am here to be in their souls for as long as I can. With my performance, I want to move them from within and form a relationship with them where there is love, respect and growth.”

While there’s lots to take from late Irrfan, Babil in our last conversation had mentioned how the two exchanged ideas when it came to personal fashion. He had said, “I am not kidding when I say that Baba and I were always stealing from each other’s wardrobes (laughs). The bowler hat that my dad is wearing in Qarib Qarib Singlle is mine! He just came to me and said, ‘Yeh main use kar raha hoon’. And I very happily agreed.”
