On the occasion of Irrfan Khan’s 56th birth anniversary, his son Babil Khan recalled how he dealt with the sudden demise of his dad. The star son revealed that he locked himself in his room for about 45 days.

In an interview with a news portal, Babil said that he didn’t believe he was gone for the first few days. However, after a week it just hit him. He then remembered going into a really bad spiral. Babil locked himself in his room for one and half months.

Talking about dealing with Irrfan’s absence, Babil added that back then he used to shoot so much that he’d be gone for a long shooting schedule. When he passed away, he had somehow convinced himself that he would come back after the shooting schedule. And then he slowly started realising that this is an indefinite shooting schedule. He’s not coming back. Babil added that he lost his best friend. According to him, it was devastating on a level that he can’t really put into words. He went on to say that his memory keeps him positive now.

Irrfan had revealed about being diagnosed with cancer in 2018. He passed away in April 2020. He was last seen in ‘Angrezi Medium’ co-starring Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and others.

Babil made his acting debut with ‘Qala’ co-starring Tripti Dimri. The film received positive reviews from the audience and critics alike. Next, he will be seen in an upcoming web series titled, ‘The Railway Men’. The series will also star actors like Kay Kay Menon, R Madhavan and Divyenndu.
