Ayan Mukerji shares an update about ‘Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev’; says “it will be ready in…” – Times of India

Ayan Mukerji may have taken nearly 10 years to finish ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’, but lucky for fans, he doesn’t plan on taking as much time to finish the sequel.
After the box office success of the first part of his fantasy saga, many have been asking for the sequel that was teased in the end of the movie. Titled Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev, the film is rumoured to have Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in lead, however, there has been no confirmation about the same.

In his latest interview, while talking about Brahmastra 2, Ayan told News18.com that the film will take ‘a couple of years’. He went on to quip, “that’s one hundred per cent better than ten years. If we take another ten years, nobody will come to watch Brahmastra 2.”
This is not the first time that the director promised fans to get the sequel out soon. He previously said in an interview with indianexpress.com that he would like the film to release by 2025. “It is a tough timeline for us considering how much time part one took. But now we have also learnt how to make these kinds of films,” he told the portal.

While Brahmastra was lauded by fans and members of the film industry, some critics weren’t too happy with the outcome. Ayan even admitted to a news portal that his movie was more of a popular film and not one to sweep away awards.

Ranbir Kapoor, who played the lead in the film, also shared a similar remark when he won a best actor trophy for his role in the film at an award show. While he did thank the organisers, he said that he didn’t think he deserved an award as he didn’t do any ‘great acting’ in the film.
