Ayan Mukerji drops ‘Brahmastra’ ticket price to Rs 100 for Navratri; says it is to ‘allow more audiences to enjoy the experience’ – Times of India
This comes after the film earned a record-breaking Rs 8.50 crore nett collection on National Cinema Day. It clocked the second-highest third Friday collection for a Hindi film, after ‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’.
The film racked up almost 14 lakh admissions which is just 20-25% less than its first-day footfalls with some sold-out shows.
The makers announced a special offering for audiences by slashing the ticket price to INR 100 exclusively for the auspicious occasion of Navratri from Monday, 26th September to Thursday, 29th September.
Director Ayan Mukerji took to social media to announce the big news in a post that read, “National Cinema Day may have taught us something about finding the right ticket price point to allow more audiences to enjoy the movie experience on the big screen! Something which we are incredibly passionate about!”
He went on to add, “With an attitude of always learning and trying new things, we hope this scheme brings some interesting positive learning to us all… and we hope our audiences continue to enjoy Brahmāstra this week, as we kick off Navratri celebrations from tomorrow!”
According to reports, the main issue with the film’s box office performance was the high-priced tickets, prompting the team to correct its pricing.
‘Brahmastra’ features an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni.
