‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ early estimates Day 2: James Cameron’s film sees good growth at the Indian box office – Times of India

After making a splash on its opening day at the Indian box office, it seems that ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ is all set to emerge as a HIT film in India.

According to the early estimates coming in on Day 2, the film has seen good growth of around 5-10%. Boxofficeindia states that the film is now on course to a collection of at least Rs 42 crore nett, however, the numbers could rise with the big numbers coming in from the southern markets.

The film reportedly racked in huge numbers in the Nizam/Andhra sectors and Kerala, but saw a minor drop on Day two. However, there was a growth in ticket sales in Tamil Nadu and Mysore/Karnataka. If the South sectors performed better than expected, the film’s collections could shoot past the Rs 45 crore nett mark.

Irrespective of the drop in collections in some sectors, the film is bringing in huge numbers in Nizam/Andhra and at this rate, it is likely to cross the three-year record held by ‘Avenger: Endgame’, thus becoming the highest-grossing Hollywood film in the South circuit.

The Hindi circuits, on the other hand, have shown good growth on Saturday which is estimated to be around 20-25%. ‘Avatar 2’ has recorded a solid 25% growth in bigger circuits like Mumbai and North India, but growth on Sunday will be dependent on the mass circuits.

With the numbers raked in on Friday and Saturday, the film is now looking at a Rs 125-130 crore nett opener at the Indian box office.
