‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ continued its march to the 300-crore mark. The film that has been ruling the Indian box office, crossed the Rs 275 crore nett mark in just 13 days.
According to reports on boxofficeindia.com, the movie earned an estimated Rs 9.50 crore nett on its second Wednesday, thus taking the overall total to an estimated Rs 278 crore nett. The collections were a minimal drop from Tuesday’s numbers.

The ‘Avatar 2’ collection for its second week is already a record for a Hollywood release in India as it has crossed the Rs 76.50 crore nett mark set by ‘Avengers: Endgame’ in 2019. Trade reports suggest that the film may end its second week with a collection around Rs 21 crore higher than ‘Endgame’.

‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ is currently chasing the lifetime numbers of ‘Endgame’ which stands at a total of Rs 367 crore nett. Whether or not the film beats the Marvel film, depends on the collections the film earns on Monday as the holiday period will end.

Meanwhile, the film has smashed all records in South India. While The Marvel film was its only competition, ‘Endgame’ had a lifetime collection of Rs 102. 54 crore, which ‘Avatar 2’ beat by a comfortable margin as it collected an estimated Rs 132.75 crore in the South sector.

At the current pace, the film’s collections from South India, could shoot past the Rs 160-170 crore nett mark. It remains to be seen if it can beat ‘Pushpa’ which earned around Rs 175 crore.
