‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ box office collection day 11: James Cameron directorial set to become first Hollywood film to earn Rs 100 crore in Week 2 – Times of India

‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ continued its record-breaking spree as it entered its second week at the box office. The James Cameron directorial is looking forward to setting a new record at the box office in its second week as it eyes the Rs 100 crore mark.
According to reports, the film collected a huge Rs 12 crore nett on its second Monday which is just 35% less than last Monday’s collection. Boxofficeinfia reports that the film’s second week total now stands at an estimated Rs 69 crore, thus setting it up for a 100-crore collection on week 2, a first for a Hollywood release in India.

With no other big releases on the cards, and the poor performance of Ranveer Singh’s comedy ‘Cirkus’, ‘Avatar 2’ is expected to get big numbers up to next Monday as the holiday period will come to an end.

The total collection of the film is now around Rs 258 crore nett. If the film continues to rake in the big bucks and crosses the Rs 300 crore nett mark, it will become the second-highest Hollywood release in India. This will put it just behind ‘Avengers: Endgame’ which earned an estimated Rs 367 crore nett.

On the international front, the film raked in an estimated $90 million, even as a massive storm kept millions at home over the four-day Christmas weekend. The sci-fi sequel earned $287.7 million in USA, becoming the fifth highest-grossing film of 2022.
