Australian UFC star Joshua Culibao survived one of the most brutal groin strikes in recent UFC history to comeback and beat his opponent by rear naked choke at UFC 284 in Perth.
Sydney-based Culibao submitted fierce rival Melsik Baghdasaryan 2 minutes into Round 2 of their featherweight bout on Saturday.

The fight was destined to be controversial, with Baghdasaryan shoving the Aussie in the throat while at the ceremonial faceoffs on Friday.
In the opening round of their fight, Baghdasaryan hit Culibao with a spinning back kick to the groin that struck him so hard that the 28-year-old was struggling to breathe afterwards.
Culibao was given the allowed five minutes to recover from the vicious low blow, but was back in action fairly quickly.

In Round Two, the Aussie connected with a jab and took his chances by pouncing on his opponent and moving to the back to snatch up his neck for a submission.
The Perth crowd was on its feet for Culibao – who notched up his third-straight victory, and first submission win.
Fans on social media had a field day with the come-from-behind victory.
‘The BALLS on Culibao!’ wrote one journalist on twitter.
‘Nuts swollen, broken nose, no problem. Josh Culibao gets the finish. What an animal,’ commented another.

‘It was pretty bad,’ he said.
‘It was one of those ones where you’ve got to sort of figure out they’re still there, you know what I mean?’
The defeat for Baghdasaryan was his first since he debuted professionally in 2014.
