Athiya Shetty’s wedding to KL Rahul may have been a closed-door affair, but now the actress is letting fans in on all the details of her intimate celebrations.
Keeping up with tradition, the actress performed all the rituals of a south Indian bride. For this ceremony, the beauty dressed up in a pink and gold saree and topped the look off with heavy jewellery. Among the many photos shared online, was one of mom Mana Shetty performing the rituals and giving the bride her blessings.

There by her side was a bunch of her gal-pals, including Krishna Shroff who was seen showering the new bride with flowers.
Athiya also snuck in a gorgeous photo of herself lying on her husband KL Rahul’s lap as he wrapped his arm around her.

On Friday, the newlyweds gave fans a glimpse of their fun-filled haldi ceremony. For her haldi ceremony, Athiya chose a gorgeous Ritu Kumar’s ivory-hued cotton anarkali suit with gotta patti work. She kept her look minimal with an oversized maang teeka. On the other hand, KL Rahul wore an elegant kurta.

As in the groom’s haldi, it is also common for his kurta to be torn apart by the end of the ceremony, KL Rahul’s friends did not miss chance to perform this fun ritual.

KL Rahul and Athiya exchanged vows on January 23 at Suniel Shetty’s (Athiya’s father) farmhouse in Khandala.

After the wedding, Suniel revealed that the couple’s wedding reception will be held after the IPL season.

Among the select group of friends who attended the wedding were Diana Penty, Krishna Shroff, Anshula Kapoor, Anushka Ranjan, Cricketers Varun Aaron and Ishant Sharma, with wife Pratima Singh.
