GroupM Pakistan on Saturday announced the appointment of Ateeq-ur-Rehman as the company’s chief executive officer (CEO).
In a statement issued by Group M — which is a leading media investment management company in Pakistan and worldwide — the appointment of new CEO is carried out with immediate effect.
“Ateeq is a homegrown leader within GroupM Pakistan, having moved through different roles and teams over the last 17 years. He has deep experience across brand and communication/strategic planning, tradingand& investment, creating business models, setting up business units as well as managing P&Ls,” said the press release issued by the company.
He is passionate about mentorship, it said, adding that Ateeq’s competencies across trading, commercial, technology and talent management make him well-placed to take on this leadership mandate.
Moreover, GroupM’s Chief Digital and Strategy Officer — Amna Khatib Paracha — will take over the leadership of Mindshare Pakistan with immediate effect.
Highly recognised as a dynamic leader, Amna has been credited for establishing successful media setups across GroupM Pakistan, Converge Technologies and Universal McCann-Orient. She started team Digital for GroupM in 2014, which has grown to become the most successful digital team across Pakistan, delivering award-winning campaigns, successful business results, as well as nurturing world-class talent.
Recently she was also given the mandate to lead GroupM Nexus including Xaxis and Goat (formerly INCA) — GroupM’s proprietary media. Amna’s expertise encompasses brand and communication strategic planning as well as innovation and ideation in digital and traditional media.
