At the Dior Show With Bridgerton’s New Heroine

Bridgerton newcomer Charithra Chandran is a secret Vogue Runway addict. By the time she had headed from the Dior fall 2022 show to her hotel in Paris, the British-Indian actor had already screen-shotted her favorite looks on the app. She’s obsessed with the chiffon corset dresses worn with biker shorts; ditto the asymmetric skirts. “The show was full of surprises!” a delighted Chandran says over the phone. “You never knew where it was going to go next.”

Dior, however, has been a constant in Charithra’s life. J’adore Dior was the first fragrance her father bought her mother and she recalls playing with the bottle as if it was a little doll. When Charithra became a teenager, she was gifted her own Miss Dior perfume, which she describes as a “coming of age” moment. “The brand feels very personal to me,” asserts this twenty-something, whose career is about to go stratospheric when Bridgerton season two drops on 25 March.

“It gets my creative juices flowing,” says the Bridgerton star of going to the shows.

For her moment on the Dior front row, alongside Rihanna and Jisoo no less, Chandran chose a white shirt dress cinched with two studded belts, “the coolest long socks!”, and rubber boots, which she “felt like [she] could run a marathon in”. For her, it personified precisely what Maria Grazia Chiuri brings to the house – “this balance between being tough and powerful, and delicate and graceful,” says Charithra.
