Asus is reportedly working on the successor of one of the most compact Android smartphones — Zenfone 8. While no official word from the company has arrived related to the Zenfone 8 successor, the product video of the alleged Zenfone 9 has surfaced online.
The report claims that the company has accidentally uploaded the product video of the unannounced Zenfone 9 handset. Soon the video was taken down by the company. However, TechGoin website managed to grab a copy of the video which reveals the design of the smartphone in detail along with key features.
As per the video, the handset will reportedly retain the compact form factor and feature a 5.9-inch Samsung AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support and a punch-hole cutout at the left corner for the selfie camera.
The video also confirms that the handset will come in four colour variants — Red, Black, Beige and some shade of Blue. The back panel of the handset features two similar-sized individual camera lenses.
Other features, that the video reveals, include a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor and a secondary sensor. The key highlight is the addition of 6-axis Gimbal image stabilisation.
Apart from that, the handset is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and backed by a 4300mAh battery.
The Zenfone 9 is also expected to feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which will double up as an additional button the company is calling ZenTouch. As per the video, it will allow users to scroll pages or feed up and down.
The video also confirmed that the handset will feature IP68 water and dust resistant rating. The company has also showcased some accessories in the video which include a smart backpack mount with a dedicated smartphone attachment option and a case with a built-in kickstand.
As already mentioned, the company hasn’t revealed anything officially about the Zenfone 9. We expect to see more leaks in the next few weeks or until Asus announces the handset officially.
