Aston Villa set to sign Rangers’ Rory Wilson but clubs remain in a dispute over compensation fee

Aston Villa are to sign Rangers prolific 16-year-old striker Rory Wilson. 

However, the two clubs remain in dispute over a compensation fee after Rangers rejected Villa’s last offer. Wilson has yet to sign a professional contract. 

Wilson, who has featured for Rangers in the UEFA Youth League, is widely considered to be one of the standout young forwards in Europe.

The prospect boasts an impressive record of eight goals in eleven appearances for Scotland at Under-17 level.

Wilson, who scored 49 goals last season, joined the Rangers academy when he was eight years old.

Having agreed personal terms with Villa, Wilson is set to join the Premier League side on July 1.
