The Bronze in the event was won by Iran’s Joharikhou Amir and Haniyeh Rostamiyan and South Korea’s Wonho Lee and Bomi Kim.
In the mixed team 10m air pistol event, six teams reach the final but only the top two participate in the Gold medal shoot-off. Teams ranked No 3 to 6 compete for Bronze.
Indian shooters started on a strong note but lost steam towards the end with a few poor shots.
“I was a little bit nervous. There was too much shooting pressure,” Sarabjot said about his 9.9 score in the final shot.
Divya was happy with her performance and thanked Sarabjot as well.
“It does feel good. We did a great job today. Thanks to my teammate as well. We gave it our best. I like the way I fought well in the finals. I really loved my shooting today, from my first shot to my last shot,” she said.
This is India’s 19th medal in shooting at the ongoing Games, which is India’s best ever tally in the sport at an Asiad. Their previous best was 14 at the 2006 Doha Asian Games.
With the 10m air pistol mixed team medal, India have so far won six gold, three silver, and five bronze in shooting in the Asian Games 2023.
