As Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt wedding festivities commence; Neetu Kapoor reveals she got engaged to Rishi Kapoor on April 13 – Times of India

On Wednesday, the actress took to her handle to reveal that she got engaged to her late husband, Rishi Kapoor on this day, 43 years ago. Reminiscing about the happy day, she shared a black and white photo from the engagement ceremony and wrote, “Fond memories of baisakhi day as we got engaged 43 years back on 13th April 1979.”

On Tuesday, reports claimed that the Bhatt and Kapoor families will come together for a pooja in honour of Rishi Kapoor, before they kick off the wedding celebrations.

While the couple has chosen to keep mum about the wedding, Alia’s uncle, Robin Bhatt confirmed that everything is on track and that the couple will take the plunge tomorrow. He also admitted that it was rather ‘unusual’ that the star couple was breaking away from tradition and calling all the shots for their wedding while the elders in the family have just been asked for their blessings.

Our cameras spotted a fleet of bouncers arriving at the groom’s Vastu residence in Bandra, well in time for the pre-wedding celebrations that are reportedly set to kick off later today. It had been reported that the stars will host small haldi, mehndi, and sangeet ceremonies and follow it up with an intimate wedding in the presence of close friends and family.
