As BTS ft. Megan Thee Stallion ‘Butter’ remix drops online ARMY joins Thee Hotties to raise USD 100,000 for charity; emotional rapper reacts to the sweet gesture – Times of India

K-pop sensation BTS released a remix version of their 2021 chartbuster ‘Butter’, featuring American rapper Megan Thee Stallion. While the boy-band and the Grammy Award-winning rapper did their best to keep fans entertained, BTS ARMY and Megan’s Thee Hotties (fandoms) united to mark the day by raising funds for good causes.

According to a post shared by the rapper, the two fandoms united and hit their target USD 100,000 in just one day. #TheeArmyFund surpassed their target collection within hours of the song’s release. The post read, “In honour of the hottest collab of the summer, join BTS ARMY and Thee Hotties in donating to Black Women for Wellness, Women for Afghan Women and The Houston Food Bank in support of Megan Thee Stallion.”

“Your donation supports voices, passions, talents, vision and safety of women children as we continue to advocate for freedom and justice together.”

Reacting to the sweet gesture, Megan took to her handle and said, “I can’t even begin to say how much this means to me! Thank you”

The organisation Black Women for Wellness also reacted to the same and expressed their gratitude in a post that read, “Wow! Thank you to the BTS and Megan The Stallion fans who have raised money to support our organization! We appreciate you and all your effort. Thank you! Thank you Me

gan for being unapologetically you. You are absolutely an example for Black women and girls.”

‘Butter’ remix featuring Megan features a new rap verse by the star that is devoid of any explicit lyrics, that she is known for. She also joins RM and SUGA to rap a few lines of their verse in the song.

BTS comprising RM, V, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook, had already released three remixes of the song over the past months. These include – Hotter, Cooler and Sweeter versions of the hit track.

Ahead of the release, the song was the subject of some legal controversy, with Stallion’s label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, blocking the release of the track.

The rapper ultimately filed an emergency temporary restraining order against her label, which a judge granted, clearing the way for the track’s release on Friday.

“Butter” recently became the longest-reigning No.1 Billboard Hot 100 song of 2021 as it stayed at the summit for nine weeks.

The song has broken countless records, including the biggest music video premiere on YouTube with 108.2 million views in 24 hours, and also the most opening day streams in Spotify history with 20.9 million unfiltered global streams.
