Artificial Intelligence can now take care of player safety in NFL
This platform has found its first application in partnership with the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA), aiming to enhance player safety through the power of AI, machine learning (ML), and analytics, Xoriant, a ChrysCapital company, said in a release.
The ORIAN platform is set to change Contact Sport Analytics, automating and expediting the contact detection and inspection process, a critical aspect of ensuring players’ well-being in the NFL.
“It has reduced our efforts by 90% in real-time illegal contacts identification and helps us to make quicker inferences through the player insight dashboard,” said Richard Persons, Director, Information Systems, NFLPA.
The platform is built upon a foundation of turnkey industry solutions, a vast partner network, accelerators, and ethical design frameworks, fostering the creation of powerful applications, the company said in a release. The platform can also be deployed for other industries.
Looking ahead, Xoriant is determined to stay at the forefront of AI-driven innovations, said Sukamal Banerjee, CEO, Xoriant. The company plans to train 100% of its engineers with GenAI, a testament to their commitment to AI at the core of their operations. While AI is now stepping on the sports ground, in a proactive effort to combat cyberbullying and harassment, this year’s French Open provided players with complimentary access to a specialized tool designed to filter out hateful messages from their social media platforms. The French Tennis Federation (FFT) took a significant step by employing artificial intelligence to oversee and moderate the comments players receive on their posts in real-time. The tool analysed responses in less than 200 milliseconds.
