Art Partner launches #CreateCOP28, an open call focused on climate justice
Art Partner, one of the most influential creative agencies in the world, announces the launch of #CreateCOP28, an open call for artists and creatives an open call for artists and creatives aged 14 to 30 from around the world.
The submitted work should explore the concept of climate action and environmental awareness, specifically from the perspective of the next generation, in particular members of marginalized and underrepresented communities who can give their often unheard perspective on the perils of climate change.
Artists are encouraged to delve into various aspects related to this theme, such as: climate justice, corporate greenwashing, material innovation, wildlife and ecosystem conservation, grassroots activism, intersectional environmentalism, regeneration, the physical and mental impacts of the climate crisis, and nature-based wisdom.
Submissions will be accepted from June to October 2023, and the 8 finalists will be awarded cash prizes of $10,000, $5,000, or $2,000. Furthermore, 20 artists will receive honorable mentions from the distinguished panel of jurors including Mario Sorrenti (Photographer), Willow Defebaugh (Editor-in-Chief of Atmos Magazine), Hans Ulrich Obrist (Artistic Director of The Serpentine), Shaway Yeh (Founder of yehyehyeh), Giovanni Testino (Founder of Art Partner).
The works of the finalists and the honorable mentions will be showcased in a virtual exhibition hosted by artpartner.com and de displayed on the @artpartner Instagram (375k followers). Some of these works will be also featured in a physical exhibition in the United Nations head offices in New York.
Creatives can apply with any medium, including photography, film, performance art, new media, social media projects, fashion design, spoken word, and musical compositions.
