Wrong club, Marquinhos?
Mikel Arteta’s summer signing has already managed to confuse social media without ever having stepped on the pitch for a competitive game with the Gunners.
Prior to Arsenal’s game against Fulham at the Emirates on Saturday, Marquinhos shared a composite of himself in his new club’s colours alongside the caption ‘Go with God’ written in his native Portuguese.

The only problem with the Brazilian’s forward’s image was that it just happened to also include the lyrics from the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Made famous in the UK by Merseybeat group Gerry and the Pacemakers, You’ll Never Walk Alone is universally known as the anthem of Arsenal’s title rivals Liverpool.
Perhaps the former Sao Paulo star would have been aware of this fact had he been present during the infamous training session last season captured by TV cameras in the All or Nothing documentary series.

Prior to a Premier League clash at Liverpool, Mikel Arteta blasted a recording of the iconic song through speakers at Arsenal Training Centre in an attempt to give his players a taste of what the atmosphere would be like at Anfield.
This isn’t the first time that Marquinhos has managed to get his English clubs mixed up either.
Before he was officially unveiled as an Arsenal player this summer, the 19-year-old had initially signed pre-contract terms with Wolves before ultimately opting to make the move to North London, a decision that led the Molineux side to consider taking legal action.
