Apple Mac mini systems are long overdue for a design refresh and that’s about to change soon. Apple is reportedly working on a major redesign for its upcoming Apple Mac mini systems which is expected to arrive sometime later this year.
9to5Mac has spotted a newsletter from Bloomberg’s reliable Mark Gurman which claims the design refresh for Mac mini systems. The newsletter also confirms that the upcoming Mac mini systems will be powered by an unannounced Apple M1X processor from Apple.
Now, it is already clear that Apple has been working on a more powerful version of the M1 chipset which is expected to offer better overall CPU and GPU performance. It would come as no surprise that Apple decides to put its latest chipset in the upcoming Mac mini.
Gurman has also mentioned that the new Apple Mac mini will replace the existing Intel-based minis in the market. He further adds that the new updated design will also include more ports than the ongoing model for better connectivity.
Apart from the new Mac mini, Apple is also expected to introduce new Macbook Pro models this year which is also speculated to be powered by the same M1X chip and an entirely new design. Reports suggest that Apple might go with the iMac’s multi-colour design and offer the new MacBook Pro laptops in multiple colour options.
As of now, there’s not much information available about the upcoming M1X chips and the machines it will power in the future. But seeing some design refresh from Apple will be refreshing for the users.
