Apple’s first event of 2022: Expected date, products and more – Times of India

There is always a sense of anticipation about Apple events and what products it may launch. Many expect Apple to have a rather busy 2022 when it comes to product launches. If a report by Bloomberg is to be believed then Apple may hold its first event of 2022 on March 8. The report says that Apple may be “targeting a date on or near March 8”. Not surprisingly, it will be a virtual event. Here’s what you can expect from Apple’s event in March
iPhone SE (2022): The most affordable iPhone
It is widely expected that the first — and the most affordable — iPhone of 2022 will be unveiled by Apple at the event. iPhone SE is said to come with a similar design as the second-generation device — looks like iPhone 8. It may retain a 4.7-inch retina HD display along with a TouchID home button. It is expected to come powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic chipset and may run iOS 15 out-of-the-box. What is expected is that the phone will offer 5G support.
iPad Air (5th generation)
An all-new iPad Air is also expected to be unveiled at the March event. Very few details are known about the new iPad Air. However, since the fourth-generation iPad came with an A14 chip, it is expected that the next model will have an A15 chip. Rumours also suggest that the new iPad Air will offer 5G support.
New Mac with Apple Silicon
Rumour has it that new Mac device with Apple’s own M1 processors could make their debut at the event. Since Apple launched the MacBook Pro with new processors in October 2020, we can rule out a new MacBook Pro. It might be a MacBook Air or the new 27-inch iMac which is rumoured to be in the works.
iOS 15.4: The next ‘big’ update for iPhones
The beta version of iOS 15.4 has been made public and brings a host of new features, including unlocking your iPhone while wearing a mask. The event could be the right time for Apple to roll out it to the general public.
