Apple Watch Series 8: Everything we know so far about Apple’s upcoming smartwatches – Times of India
Apple has confirmed its biggest event of the year where the company will be launching the next-generation hardware including the iPhone 14 series. Along with that, the company is also expected to announce the next-generation Apple Watch Series 8 lineup which will reportedly include three variants — Watch Series 8, new Watch SE and Watch Series 8 Pro. The Pro variant is likely to offer a premium design and features. However, the vanilla version will also receive some of them along with updated performance.
So, here’s everything you need to know about the vanilla version of the Apple Watch Series 8.
Apple Watch Series 8 to come with new flat display
It is rumoured that the ‘Pro’ version of the Apple Watch Series 8 will feature an updated design. Rumours claim that the Watch Series 8 Pro will come with a flat edge display. However, ShrimpApplePro has recently highlighted that the flat edge display is actually aimed for the regular Watch Series 8 and not the Pro version. The Pro version is also expected to feature a rugged design as it will be aimed at athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
Apple Watch Series 8 to offer a bigger display
Apple Watch Series 8 lineup is also expected to come with a bigger display size. Analyst Ross Young has claimed that one of the models will offer a bigger 1.99-inch display. On paper it is bigger than the 1.90-inch display of the 45mm variant of the Watch Series 7.
Mark Gurman suspects that the biggest display will be a part of the ‘Pro’ variant and not the vanilla version.
Watch Series 8 to come with the S8 chip
The next-generation Apple Watch is likely to be powered by Apple’s S8 chip which as per the reports, will feature more or less similar performance to the previous-generation S7 chip. Also, there will be no major improvements here compared to the S7 chip.
New tempreture sensor
Among all the other health-related features, the biggest change that we might see with these two upcoming smartwatches will be the addition of a new temperature sensor. The temperature sensor will allow users to measure body temperature. The Watch could also notify users in case their body temperature is higher than usual.
New health-related features
There are several reports that Apple has been working on a couple of new health-related features for the upcoming Apple Watch models. However, with the Watch Series 8 we may not see too many new health features. Rather it will be the watchOS 9 that will bring improved features to the Apple Watch.
