Apple tests a new improvement for this iPhone 14 Pro feature with iOS 16.2 beta – Times of India
According to a report by 9to5Google, Apple is testing a tiny improvement for the Dynamic Island feature with its latest beta version of iOS 16.2. This change will be beneficial for iPhone 14 Pro users as the current panel interferes with the icons that separately appear on top of the phone’s display.
Dynamic Island feature new improvement: What may change
The width of the Dynamic Island feature in the latest stable version of iOS 16 can allow accommodations only for two icons on the iPhone 14 Pro status bar. With the Dynamic Island feature enabled, the iPhone 14 Pro status bar shows only two icons — the battery icon (that shows the amount of remaining battery life) and the connectivity icon which can either show the Wi-Fi logo or the cellular signal strength bars.
However, iPhone users who are a part of the iOS beta program and have already installed the latest beta version of iOS 16,2 will be able to discover a new change in the Dynamic Island feature. While playing music on their iPhone 14 Pro, beta testers will find that Dynamic Island has reduced its width to accommodate all three icons in the status bar, simultaneously.
This might seem like a tiny improvement, but this small change can turn out very important for iPhone 14 Pro users. Previously, when Dynamic Island covered the status bar icons it confused some users into believing that their device is facing a connectivity issue.
It is important to note that this issue never affected iPhone 14 Pro Max users as the smartphone sports a 6.7-inch display which is much larger than iPhone 14 Pro’s 6.1-inch screen. The larger screen allowed the Pro Max models to show all three icons in the status bar even with the Dynamic Island enabled from the very beginning.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman believes that Apple won’t roll out iOS 16.2 until mid-December.
