Apple may include these 5 features in the new iPad Pro models – Times of India
Along with the new iPad Pro models, the company is also expected to unveil a cheaper iPad and new updates to the Mac. These new models will be the first update to the iPad Pro series since April 2021. Here are some features that the new iPad Pro models may come with.
Reverse wireless charging (iPad Pro)
Apple is reportedly testing the reverse wireless charging feature for its upcoming iPad Pro models which will help users to charge their AirPods or iPhones by placing them on the back of the iPad.
Two new connectors (iPad Pro)
The upcoming iPad Pro might ditch the current three-pin Smart Connector for two new four-pin connectors which will also be different from the previous one. The existing three-pin Smart Connector in the iPad Pro helps users to connect several accessories like the Magic Keyboard. The new four-pin connector will expand the types of accessories that can be attached to the iPad Pro.
Improved M2 chips (iPad Pro)
Apple’s latest M2 chip is said to be up to four times faster than the M1 chip on the Mac and is claimed to offer a longer battery life in the MacBook Air. The company might use the M2 chip to power the upcoming iPad Pro models as iPadOS 16 will include heavy features like Stage Manager. This feature allows users to connect their iPads to an external display and have overlapping windows. Apple is also expected to roll out iPadOS 16 alongside the new iPad Pro models.
Wireless charging (iPad Pro)
Apple is reportedly testing a glass back to replace the aluminum cover which will allow wireless charging. The company is also likely to include MagSafe functionality for the new iPad Pro models.
A new Apple Pencil (iPad Pro)
The tech giant released the Apple Pencil 2 in 2018 and since then it has not been updated. Apple is expected to unveil the third-gen Apple Pencil with a glossy finish and a redesigned tip at the upcoming event. The company might not add any major design changes but is expected to improve the device latency with internal hardware upgrades and software optimisations.
