Apple iPhone 14 Pro models tipped to have this similarity with Samsung Galaxy S22 – Times of India
Apple is rumoured to launch the iPhone 14 series later this year with four smartphones – iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Although Apple is not known to reveal the plans related to upcoming devices, its suppliers often hint at what users can expect. As per a new report, iPhone 14 Pro models will feature 8GB of RAM, highest in any iPhone till date. The post by user yeux1122 on the Korean blog Naver cited supply chain sources to reveal information about the memory components of the upcoming iPhone models. The newly launched Samsung Galaxy S22 is also backed by 8GB of RAM.
Similar predictions were shared by analyst Jeff Pu in a research note with Haitong International Securities. For context, the iPhone 13 Pro models are equipped with 6GB of RAM. Although the iPhone 13 series devices are available with a base storage option of 128GB, the analyst believes that the iPhone 14 series devices will have a base storage capacity of 64GB.
As per a report by display industry consultant Ross Young suggests that the devices will have both hole-punch and pill-shaped cutouts near the top of the display. According to the Tweets by Young, Apple iPhone 14 Pro models will have the punch-hole cutout to house the front camera and the pill-shaped cutout will feature an infrared camera for Face ID. In a follow-up Tweet, the consultant also suggested that we may not be able to see an under display infrared camera until 2023 or 2024. This means that we can not expect the under display Face ID feature until iPhone 15 Pro.
The analyst also suggests that Apple will keep the ProMotion feature limited to iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple first introduced the ProMotion feature in iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max which were launched in September last year. For those who do not know, ProMotion adjusts the refresh rate of the display according to battery life and content on the screen.
