apple: Apple AirPods Pro is getting a new feature designed for people with mild hearing loss – Times of India
Apple is finally adding a very important feature to Apple AirPods Pro. The feature, Conversation Boost, is now available for Apple AirPods Pro and it is designed for people who have mild hearing loss to become a better part of the conversation.
The Conversation Boost feature is a part of the same firmware update (4A400) that made finding AirPods Pro easier than before.
The new feature is a part of AirPods Pro’s Transparency mode and as expected it uses Pro’s beam-forming microphones to boost the volume while having a conversation. Users also have the option to manage volume, modify the amplification, transparency and tone of the voice.
To enable the feature, you’ll need to install the latest firmware version on AirPods Pro. Usually, AirPods connected to the iPhone or iPad automatically update themselves. In case that does not happen for you, simply connect your AirPods Pro to iPhone or iPad and head to Settings -> General -> About -> AirPods and check the firmware version.
Once updated, you can now enable the feature by following the steps below:
Head to Settings and tap on the Accessibility option
Then, tap on Audio/Visual under the Heading section
Toggle Headphone Accommodations toggle to ‘On’
After this, look for the Conversation Boost option and turn it on
The feature is now enabled on your AirPods Pro. From the same page, you can adjust the Conversation Boost parameters as well.
