Anurag Kashyap doesn’t want ‘The Kashmir Files’ to be India’s entry at Oscars; Vivek Agnihotri says, ‘Genocide-denier lobby of Bollywood has started their campaign against my film’ – Times of India
Anurag hopes that ‘The Kashmir Files’, which enjoyed an unstoppable run at the box office, is not India’s official entry for the Oscars. Vivek has now reacted to Anurag’s comment. He said that ‘Bollywood’s genocide-denier lobby’ has started a campaign against his film.
Anurag, in an interview with Galatta Plus, said that India might actually have a nomination in the final five if ‘RRR’ is the film they pick. He further said that he doesn’t know what film anybody is going to pick, but he hopes it’s not ‘The Kashmir Files’. Vivek shared a screenshot of a news portal quoting Anurag and tweeted, “Important: The vicious, genocide-denier lobby of Bollywood has started their campaign against #TheKashmirFiles for #Oscars, under the leadership of the maker of #Dobaaraa.” Have a look:
‘The Kashmir Files’ starred Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi and Mithun Chakraborty. It showcased the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the late-1980s. It went on to become the highest-grosser film of 2022.
Meanwhile, Anurag’s ‘Dobaaraa’ is slated to hit theatres on August 19.
