Salman Khan is the latest Bollywood superstar to sing praise of Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’.

After fellow Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan praised ‘The Kashmir Files’, leading man Anupam Kher reportedly received a call from Salman Khan to congratulate him on the success of the film.

On Times Now Navbharat’s Frankly Speaking, Kher spoke about the celebs who personally reached out to him after watching the film. He revealed, “But individually, I must say, Salman Khan called me the other day and congratulated me.”

The veteran actor worked with Salman in a number of Bollywood films, including the hit romantic comedy ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ that also featured Sonam Kapoor in the lead.

He was also asked about the Hindi film industry’s silence over the success of the film at the box office. Talking about the same, he brushed it off saying that everyone was just “surprised” at the film’s performance. “As far as the Hindi film industry is concerned, I think they’re too much in a shock. Aisa kabhi hua nahi hai. Whenever a shocking thing happens, it’s a very very strange reaction. Like ab Sholay bani thi, yeh mujhe Ramesh Sippy ji ne khud bataya, toh pehle tin week chali hi nahi qki logon ko samajh nahi aaya ki Hindustan me aisi film bhi ban sakti hai. Pehle tin week, it was declared a flop, but then it became a cult film. Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, premiere huwa tha toh the industry was saying, ‘Oh my God! Yeh kya banaya diya hai, yeh toh shaadi ka video hai’. But it turned out to be the biggest grosser,” said the actor.

He added, “They’re in a shock. They never thought that a small film which is based on tragedy, which is dark, where there is blood and tears.”

‘The Kashmir Files’ that is currently ruling the box office, has collected around Rs 217.50 crore nett. Despite facing competition from the newly releases SS Rajamouli starrer ‘RRR’, the film is expected to cross the Rs 225 crore nett mark by the end of its third weekend. Trade experts also predict that the film will earn over the Rs 35 crore nett by the end of its third week, setting it up for a Rs 300 crore box office run.
