Anuradha Menon’s gripping, edge-of-the seat whodunit Neeyat, starring Vidya Balan in the lead, is going to hit our screens tomorrow, but recently, a special screening of the thriller was held for industry friends. Amongst them, Anil Kapoor gave a huge shout-out to the movie calling it a cinematic brilliance. Taking to his IG stories, he wrote, “Just witnessed the cinematic brilliance of Neeyattonight.

The special screening of Neeyat was attended by a slew of celebs such as Javed Akhtar, Anil Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Karishma Tanna, Ali Fazal, Rahul Bose, Kubbra Sait among several others.

He went on to tag several members of the massive “talented cast” and added, “You have created a masterpiece that will leave a lasting impression.”

Earlier, director Anuradha Menon told ETimes that she is a huge fan of the thriller genre. She said, “I personally love the thriller-whodunit genre and have watched almost all movies related to that, including Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, Knives Out and Gosford Park that came out while I was in film school. Vis à vis Neeyat, while it was firmly established that I wanted to make a movie on this genre, I also had to make sure that my story conveyed a message and is based around a rock-solid plot, with well-etched out characters. So, that was the nascent plan that I then built from ground up.”
Neeyat also stars Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Shahana Goswami, Neeraj Kabi, Amrita Puri, Shashank Arora, Niki Walia, Dipannita Sharma, Mita Vashisht and Prajakta Koli.
