Android Auto redesign: What’s new
The new redesign is a part of the latest Android Auto 7.5 update and it now rolling out to all users gradually. That means the update will take a while to reach all the users.
As far as new changes are concerned, the Android Auto settings page now features complete Material You overhaul. Which means, it looks similar to other apps and settings. Apart from that, it also supports Material You theming for accent colours along with light and dark themes.
Additionally, the button placement and the overall layout have been changed and it now looks much cleaner and in line with other apps.
Android Auto Coolwalk update
Recently, Google also seeded the first public beta of the much-awaited Android Auto Coolwalk update. The update gives us the first glimpse at the new in-car UI that the company showcased at the Google I/O keynote.
The update is currently available only for beta users. Unfortunately, the beta program for Android Auto is currently full. So, you’ll have to wait for the company to rollout the update to the stable version.
In terms of features, the Coolwalk update brings a major design overhaul to Android Auto. It features a new dual window setup with can now show two different piece of information on a single screen. For instance, the left side of the screen is reserved for the Maps and navigation, while the right sides displays other information like music, calls, etc.
