Amitabh Bachchan: Twitter restoring Blue ticks: Amitabh Bachchan has another ‘epic’ response – Times of India

Twitter is reportedly restoring the blue tick for some celebrity accounts who have over 1 million followers. The verification badge is returning to those profiles even if they haven’t paid for the Blue subscription. Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, who has lately been in the news for his ‘quirky’ tweets, once again shared his thoughts on the matter.

He wrote a funny tweet saying Twitter mausi, chachi, beheni, tai, bua.. he paid for the blue tick but now the verification badge is being restored for free for those who have over 1 million followers. Big B has 48.4 million followers. “Ab? Khel khatam, paisa hajam?” he asked.

Are Mare Gaye Gulfaam , Biraj Mein Mare Gaye Gulfaam ????
“A ! Twitter Aunty, uncle, sister, aunt, grandmother. Fill up my money, for blue lotus ✔️ Now you say whoever has 1 m follower get their blue lotus for free. Ours are 48.4 m , now ?? Game over, money digest?!????” [translated].
Twitter Blue tick
On April 20, Twitter removed the coveted blue checkmarks from every legacy verified accounts, including celebrities, journalists and more, causing an uproar on the social media.
Previously, a verification badge was a means to confirm the authenticity of noted personalities so that users know that they are not engaging with a fake account. It was provided for free to accounts after a due verification process.

Musk made verification as a part of Blue subscription. He also said that the badge will provide authenticity to a particular account, however, people will now have to pay for it. A lot of noted people did not subscribe to Musk’s idea and chose to remain ‘badge-free’ but reports suggested that some accounts with over a million followers had their verification restored.
It is likely that not all of them got their blue tick back. At the time of writing, Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds, who has over 21 million followers, hasn’t got his verification badge back.
Meanwhile, Musk has paid for the blue checkmarks of Stephen King, Lebron James, and William Shatner.
