Amitabh Bachchan ‘overwhelmed’ by outpour of love post rib injury; shares recovery update saying, ‘I progress gradually… it shall take time’ – Times of India

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is recovering from a rib injury, expressed his gratitude for all the love and prayes that have been coming his way since Monday.
In his latest blog post, the actor said that he was ‘overwhelmed’ by all the concern over his injury. He wrote, “First .. to all that send their concern on my injury, may I express my gratitude and love for your prayers .. I am overwhelmed by the attention you give me and am so grateful to the family Ef for this embrace.”

Sharing a health update with his fans, he wrote, “I progress gradually .. it shall take time .. and what has been prescribed by the doctors is being followed diligently .. rest and strapped chest.”

He also assured that all work on his film ‘Project K’ with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone has stopped and “will only begin once the condition improves and the medical gives an assurance.”

As fans around the country celebrated Holi, the actor sent out his greetings to all saying, “may the colours of HOLI bring the multifaceted colours of life in your life.”

While revealing that “The ‘holika’ was lit last night at Jalsa,” he also added, “there being a date confusion on the day for HOLI .. it is now done. HOLI being celebrated today .. and tomorrow .. so in this confusion much of what could have been done was not done.”

The 80-year-old Bollywood superstar posted on his blog Sunday night that he sustained a rib injury while working in Hyderabad on the science fiction film ‘Project K’. The film being made in the Hindi and Telugu languages is slated for release in 2024.

Bachchan wrote that he had a damaged rib cartilage and a muscle tear. He said the injury was “painful” and he consulted a doctor before he flew home to Mumbai, where he was advised to rest.

“I shall be unable to meet the well wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening, so do not come,” the actor said to fans who often gather outside his home in Mumbai. “All else is well,” he wrote.
