Amitabh Bachchan movies were stopped and audience sang ‘Happy Birthday’ on October 10, 11:59 pm – Exclusive! – Times of India
All the screenings- be it ‘Kabhi Kabhie’, ‘Don’, ‘Abhimaan’ or any other Bachchan movie that was being played in any PVR of this country – the film in question was stopped. A ‘Happy Birthday’ slide followed on the big screen and the audience rose to the occasion singing ‘Happy Birthday’.
Witness the claps, seetis and joy when these movies are being played out. Compare it to today’s movies, most of which have no head or tail, no emotion, no good music, sometimes nothing at all and you wonder why this was made, you wonder why so many crores were sent down the drain.
The festival has been extended and if you haven’t watched at least one or two from the long list, you have definitely missed something in life. Yours truly watched ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ last evening at PVR, Oberoi Mall in Mumbai’s Goregaon, close to Film City.
By the way, please note that it was ‘Housefull’ but only 12 people got out to take the expensive coffees and popcorns, sorry, the obscenely priced coffees and popcorns. The message is clear: WE value our money and shall now visit theatres only if the tickets are moderately priced. Kamal Gianchandani (PVR, CEO) and Bijli Brothers (Sanjeev and Ajay) of PVR in fact should lead the way and set an example. Many producers have been reaching out to them to understand the situation.
